Dr. Lillian Khan, a well published beauty writer, Pond’s brand ambassador and frequently interviewed celebrity dermatologist has re-launched her monthly lecture series: “Beautiful Skin! Beautiful You!” at her JC Clinic on Wednesday, Nov. 11. It’s an attempt to educate women about their skin and its demands and empower women to feel comfortable in their own skin.
The lecture will help women to identify their skin type and the care it demands. Following are the skin type:
Oily skin, dry skin, combination skin, normal skin and problematic skin.
Each skin type has its own demands and problems which Dr. Khan discussed in detail. Latest skincare tips, tricks, treatments and procedures used by Hollywood celebrities were also informed.
She pointed out that many women are confused about their skin type and come to a dermatologist when they have harmed it due to using the wrong product lines. Skin treatments are not that simple. Patience is the key in treating it. Proper diagnosis based on patients’ skincare habits and regime is to be considered. Once the treatment has been done post treatment complications are to be addressed. Maintenance is also needed.
Advanced treatments like Radio Frequency Micro-Needling, Lasers, fractional lasers, HydraFacial, Meso Therapy and facials and peels usages were informed to the people.
She shared the ways how to treat oily skin that is prone to acne. The post acne complication like pigmentation and discoloration was also discussed.
She spoke about how to deal with dull complexion or uneven skin tone which often makes ones attractive features go unnoticed.
She educated women how to fulfill the demands of their skin so that it may slow down the aging process of the skin and their reliance on complicated procedures could be delayed.
She also shone spotlight on the demands of dry, dehydrated and sensitive skin and how to beat allergies and what products to be used by people with sensitive skin.
Skin diseases like eczema, rosacea and others were also discussed.
