Luxury French fashion label Chanel presented its Paris Cosmopolite 2016/17 Métiers d’art collection at the Ritz Paris last night. The exclusive event hosted by the maison’s Creative Director Karl Lagerfeld saw a star-studded guest list that included Vanessa Paradis, Willow Smith and Caroline de Maigret, who recently launched a lifestyle portal with the brand. Even the runway was peppered with stardust as Lily-Rose Depp, Ellie Bamber, Alice Dellal, Cara Delevingne, Sistine Stallone, Georgia May Jagger as well as Pharrell Williams presented King Karl’s enigmatic creations.
Drawing inspiration from “the evening dresses that women used to wear to dine at the Ritz”, Lagerfeld showcased a quintessential Parisian collection that featured a muted colour palette interjected with splashes of red and gold, intricate embroideries and chic interpretations of the signature tweed jacket. The comprehensive suite of haute couture – men’s, women’s and children – included flowing dresses, sharply cut tuxedos and ready-to-wear with defining silhouettes.
