Exclusive collaboration: Edgardo Osorio x Salvatore Ferragamo

James Ferragamo, Women’s Leather Product Director of fine footwear brand, Salvatore Ferragamo has set out to highlight the house’s long-standing commitment to promoting young talent, while honouring the legacy of its founder’s creative innovation — namely his arrival in Hollywood a century ago, and his close ties to the stars of cinema’s Golden Age.

The luxury Italian brand has joined fancy-feet forces with Colombian designer Edgaro Osorio, Creative Director of the luxury footwear brand, Aquazzura. Aquazzura’s stylish shoes have gained global recognition as an innovator in the footwear industry with boutiques in Florence, London, Miami and soon in New York, Moscow, Dubai and Hong Kong. Not to mention they’re worn on feet from Beyonce and Olivia Palermo to Gigi Hadid.

Edgardo Osorio for Salvatore Ferragamo is the first time the house has collaborated with another designer using their name. Osorio, who was born in Colombia and raised between Miami and London, adds, “It is an honour to be interpreting Salvatore Ferragamo’s extraordinary design vision for a new generation of woman. This collaboration is particularly dear to me as it marks 10 years since I first joined Ferragamo at just 19-years-old, my first job in the world of luxury footwear.”

Inspired by Ferragamo classics here are the reimagined rainbow wedge, the polka dot shoe, and the wing shoe, which were designed for Salvatore’s original Hollywood clients including Mae West, Joan Crawford and Marilyn Monroe.

The 12 piece capsule collection will be available at select Salvatore Ferragamo stores in the Middle East by the end of November 2015 and can be bought exclusivly on ferragamo.com.
