New York Fashion Week is getting out the packing tape once again. WWD reports today that the shows will be moving further downtown to West Soho. Skylight Clarkson Square at 550 Washington Street will be New York Fashion Week’s newest hub. That’s not to be confused with Skylight at Moynihan Station, which was the official NYFW venue for the past three seasons. Three new galleries will be at Skylight Clarkson Square, including Industria, a nearby venue for designer presentations. Catherine Bennett, senior vice-president and managing director at IMG Fashion Events & Properties, theorized that West Soho’s surrounding galleries, hotels, designers, and artists would be a better fit for the event. At the very least, now Fashion Week showgoers won’t have to battle the gridlock from surrounding Penn Station–area construction — just Uber surge pricing.
