Born in 1954, Steven Meisel is an American photographer who’s known to be the protégé of both: Franca Sozzani nd the fashion industry’s very own ice queen: Anna Wintour. Through the direction of the most influential editors, Meisel has built over the years a portfolio of the most memorable and iconic fashion images. He is now considered to be the one of the most powerful and successful fashion photographers.
Controversial but creative, Steven Meisel’s photographs are based on reality while allowing the viewer to dream…after all fashion is about fantasy! From Christy Turlington to Gigi Hadid, Gisele Bundchen to Naomi Campbell, Steven Meisel has photographed the biggest names in fashion. This is a photographer who’s been in the industry for more than 30 decades and just for that we can’t help but wonder his perspective of how the model industry has changed today.
Naturally, Vogue Italia and Vogue US have mostly published his work. And througout the years, he has photographed fashion campaigns for the most famous brands such as Calvin Klein, Balenciaga, Valentino and Dolce and Gabbana.
