Fall Trend Report 2012

By Linah Hashmi

Whether you’re spending your winter indulging at Foquet in Paris, Attending a wedding in Turkey, on a shopping spree in La Rinascente in the heart of Milan, or just out on that romantic dinner in Geneva, here’s how to stand out with fall’s hottest trends..

Gold & Glam
I say go bold and go gold! One of my favourite trends this fall, gold is hot this season! You can never go wrong with a plunging neck long-sleeves sequin Elie saab gown or a Prabal Gurung gown cut out at the sides of the waist with a high slit, both come with belts at the waistlines to accentuate those curves.  Now that’s making a bold fashion statement!

Love A-Fur
I’m crushing over bright colored fur coats this season!  Whether it’s this glamorous red lace coat by Zuhair Murad with a velvet bow belt that adds a touch of cuteness, a super cool Elie Saab coat in teal or a dramatic Fendi fur in bright yellow with grey contrast in the front!

Printed Statement
Stay comfortable yet stylish with these bold print and pattern trousers. Rabih Kayrouz did a snake print on wide leg trousers with a statement leather belt, Peter Som did it playful and pretty with floral print on cropped pants and Helmut Lang paired theirs with a velvet blazer.

Playful Pastels
Who says you have to stick to dark colors for fall!  Just like bright colored fur coats, these  pastel outfits are just as effective! Whether you want to be chic in a full sleeves pastel cocktail dress with an embroidered bottom by Razan Alazzouni or sexy in Pucci’s pencil dress with a sheer top, or a bit of both in a beautiful floral embroidered cap sleeves number by Georges Hobeika!

Sheer Genius
There’s nothing like a sheer gown or outfit. Falls perfectly on your body and makes for such a romantic look. They always stay in trend and not just limited to a season. These three outfits are just sheer genius: Georges Hobeika’s red full sleeves sheer gown is simple yet sensual and I love the addition of a velvet bow at the neck and just a narrow velvet belt at the waist. DKNY did a full sleeves sheer tunic in black with flared sheer trousers in navy blue and Blumarine’s nude long-sleeved sheer gown fit for a bride featured panels of shimmering sequins strategically placed across the bodice and hips! Sultry, Simple, Sexy, you choose!
